rehabilitation

craniosacral therapy

This style of yoga is gentle and supported, using a sequence of exercises for positional release of connective tissue tensions caused by excessive sympathetic nervous system activity. These tensions compress and misalign the body with resultant decreased awareness and neuromotor control, and efficiency of movement.

svaroopa yoga

Improves:
Body Awareness
Breath
Postural Alignment
Biomechanics
Neuromotor Control
Relaxation
Pain

Principles Include:

  1. Support equals release. Increased Performance, competition, and increased effort are discouraged.
  2. Weightbearing into the bones facilitates release.
  3. Sequence is significant. Exercises begin at the bottom of the spine and move upward.
  4. Neuromotor control of breath and the abdominal muscles are emphasized.
